33日目

 

2週間前、偶然に素晴らしい家族の出会いってことは幸いだった。

その日、友達になって、親切に私を神戸へ招待してくれた。

そして、この土曜日通常の洗濯をした後で神戸市に出発した。

（ところで、曖昧だけど、ブログをコンピュターで書く前に、ブログを手で書いている。「神戸」という漢字を書くことなぜか楽しい）

 

三宮で友達と会って、町中見物した。神戸市はすごく面白い場所と思う。海と山の迫る港町、神戸は強い洋風な影響を受けた。

比較に京都の名物は和菓子でも神戸は洋風のケーキで有名だ。さらに、古い欧米人の住宅として建設した洋風館が多い。

その北野異人館である建築を観てびっくりした。

スタバも古いアメリカみたい町家に位置する。

 

友達のお陰で、また関西にはもうひとつの側面を見てきた。

 

 

Day 33

Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting a very nice family. Over the course of that day, we became friends and they were kind enough to invite me to visit them in Kobe.

So, this Saturday I took the opportunity to travel to Japan’s sixth largest city (after doing my laundry of course).

 

I met my friends in Sannomiya, and we set off to do some sightseeing around the city. Kobe is a very interesting place. Squeezed between a looming mountain and a port, the city is known for having a strong foreign influence.

While Kyoto is famous for its Japanese-style sweets, Kobe is famous for its Western-style treats. What’s more, there are a number of old buildings constructed in a European fashion for foreigners a couple of hundred years ago.

When I saw the architecture in the Kitano-Ijinkan area I was very surprised!

Even Starbucks is located within an old American-style townhouse.

 

Thanks to my friends, I was able to see yet another side to Kansai.
