２４日目

出張の時、会社の新橋で構えている事務所で働いていた。

長岡京市本社は町から離れているけど東京の支店は便利なビジネス街である。

 

金曜日、社長は別の仕事をしていたので、二人で上司と商談に行った。

また東京の渋滞に巻き込まれた。

 

顧客は茅ヶ崎であって、綺麗な場所を感想された。

海であるから、曇でもオーストラリアを連想した。家族らしくて、リラックスな雰囲気。

だって、カフーやサフィン屋が懐かしい気持ちを起こしたが、ビーチを見たとまさに気持ちが冷めてしまった。

もしかして、オーストラリア人だから海に対して高級基準を持っているけど、その海はちょっと…

砂が黒くて、海水が油っぽい… 入りたくなかった。

 

商談後、「サザンC」を見に行った。

その名所は、「サザンALL STARS」という有名なバンドと関している。歌をまだ聞いていないけど、明らかにその文化のもっと調べた方がいい。

 

日本音楽の知識はまだ浅いかもけど、料理はだんだん慣れている。京都に帰る前、美味しいうどん・そば屋に食事した。

食べたものについて学んでみたが、正直に日本の料理文化は奥が深い。

逆に、昨日上司はTimTamsを初めて食べてみた。オーストラリアと言えば、料理はTimTamsというチョコビスケットやVegemiteという塗るものやオージビーフ…

それだけね 笑

 

 

Day 24

 

While on last week’s business trip, I spent a bit of time working in the company’s Tokyo office. Located in the heart of Tokyo, Shimbashi, it could not be more different from the Nagaokakyo headquarters.

 

On Friday, as the Company President had already returned to Kyoto, my senior and I braved the Tokyo traffic again for another client meeting.

 

The customer was located in Chigasaki, I really nice area. As it’s next to the beach, despite being cloudy, Chigasaki reminded me of Australia. Family friendly, relaxed atmosphere. However, the nostalgic feeling came to a sharp halt when we got to the beach proper.

Perhaps I have high standards as an Australian but the beach was…

Well, the sand was black and the water oily. I did not really feel like getting in.

 

After the meeting, we went to see a spot made famous by a Japanese band. The Southern C features in the music of the popular “Southern All-Stars”. I still haven’t checked out their music, something I should probably fix. My appreciation of Japanese music is still very thin.

 

While my music knowledge might be lacking, I’m getting at least a little familiar with the cuisine. Before heading back to Kyoto, we ate at a delicious udon/soba restaurant.

I tried to learn about what I ate, but honestly Japanese food culture is still way too deep.

In contrast, yesterday my senior tried Tim Tams for the first time. When talking about Australian food we’ve got Tim Tams, Vegemite, Aussie beef…

That’s about it haha
