I can’t believe three months have already passed and that it’s time for me to say goodbye.
In the end, if I had to answer the question “What did you like the most about Japan?”, I wouldn’t say the shrines, Tokyo, Mount Fuji, Sushi, the cherry blossom, the Shinkansen or the hot drinks vending machines. I would say that the most amazing thing about Japan are: Japanese. I wouldn’t have had this amazing lifechanging experience if it wasn’t for them.
So, before I officially leave this place I want to thank every single one of them. I want to thank Kimura san, who has been the coolest boss I have ever had, and the boss that everybody dreams about, considers his employees to be his friends and even family. I will thank Yume san and Ma ii san for their kind manners and for their gentle hearts.
Some special thanks go to Mimura san, Bara san, Nishihara san for taking of their time that day and explaining to me what nanotechnology is. Yamada san, Sasaki san, Ito san, Sugita san, Masuda san and all Kimura Industry’s staff for considering me part of the family, for all the things that I learned with them and for all the respect and kindness that they treated me with.
I also need to thank the Nissay insurance lady for always dropping candies at our desks every time she visits.
I would like to thank all these nice ladies that helped me out every time I got lost, even though most of them didn’t speak English, they made sure I was in the right train before they left, I salute their selflessness. I want to thank the baker next door, that welcomed me with his best smile every time and never missed the chance to drop a little pastry in my bag, just like that. I want to thank that girl that rushed out from the train one day just to give me back the transport card that I had dropped.
Because at the end of the day what makes Japan what it is, are these extraordinary people.
I will keep them and the amazing experience they provided me, in my heart, forever.
جزاكم الله خير (May God return your kindness). For all the smiles that you shared with the world, I hope you receive thousands in return.
Love,
Islam
